CURRICULUM

• Elementary- Curriculum is designed individually for each student. For beginning students we focus on musical literacy and technical development. 

• Intermediate- Students will be assigned technique, theory, sight reading and aural exercises, as well as several pieces each week. Technical development is more focused, as well as musical interpretation and expression.  Students are also introduced to the major stylistic periods and representative composers. 

• Advanced- Students will continue to refine their technical skills as well as ability to interpret advanced music. A performance repertoire is built and performance skills are continually refined. 

• MTAC Certificate of Merit and CODA- As a member of MTAC I offer my students of all levels the opportunity to participate in both MTAC programs. These programs provide a standard of curriculum requiring to focus on musical excellence in performance, technique, aural training, sight reading and theory. In the spring, the students are evaluated and receive official MTAC certificates upon completion.
